We simply described all technical terms

Technical Terms*

Acoustic seal

A seal that is engineered to reduce noise disruption.

Active leaf

It is a dynamic component that gets activated by a pull or push mechanism which can be either manual pressure or an automated mechanism.

Coex (Co-extruded)

This product type is produced by a process in which two or more plastic materials are extruded through a single die.

Drop seal

This is an automatic product that is located at the bottom of doors or sliding doors.

Gasket

This is a flexible product that is installed to seal active or inactive components.

Groove

This is a technical detail in active or inactive components to contain seals in it. This can also be made in components in different ways such as side groove, centered groove, horizontal groove, angled groove.

Hardware

Is the term of a sector which is associated with mostly the building and construction industry.

Inactive leaf

This is a static component that is always stable and does not move with any added pressure.

Intumescent

It is a fire retardant technology that causes an otherwise flammable material to foam, forming an insulating barrier when exposed to heat.

Ironmongery

Is the term of various metal equipments and construction components that are used in the building industry.

Non-flammable

An additional advantage of modified plastic formulas which make actual products flame retardants. It is commonly used in fire resistant steel door applications.

Rigid

It is the hard profiles that are used in various forms of design combination at thresholds, frames, and so on. Also, it can be co-extruded with soft or other rigid materials.

Perimeter seal

Is a standardized or custom-designed seal that is located at the edge of the door, curated to provide solutions for gaps.

PP (Polypropylene)

Is an intensely versatile plastic due to its durability and excellent tolerance of both chemical substances and high temperatures.

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)

Is a highly versatile chemical compound that can be transformed into any chemical form by modifying it to gain durable features.

Slot

A particular gap at the aluminum or rigid plastic profiles. It is where the profile gaskets fits.

Soft

Flexible elastomer profiles that are mostly used in sealing applications. These profiles have various softness due to the formula of the raw materials.

TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer)

Thermoplastics are a class of polymers that can be softened and melted by the application of heat, and can be processed either in the heat-softened state or in the liquid state (e.g. by extrusion and injection molding).

TPV (Thermoplastic Vulcanizate)

A very special class of thermoplastic elastomers prepared by dynamic vulcanization or cross-linking process, which involves the cross-linking of a rubber phase while it is being melt-mixed with a thermoplastic material at elevated temperature.

Palusol

A high level of fire-resistant material that is mostly used in fire safety doors.

Weather seal

A seal type that initially provides thermal protection against all weathers. It is most commonly used on windows and doors.

Three-layer coex

A product type which produced by a process in which three plastic materials are extruded through a single die.
